The best student hotspots Malaga for going out
The list we’ve made, contains several popular and affordable bars among students. When we got there, yes yes, the bars were full of students. Especially on Thursday, because Thursday is THE night to go out as a student. The city will be full of students (already) celebrating the weekend and enjoying their social life’s. Out of this list, there is no ‘best’ bar to hang out at, we really liked them all. It differs by person which one is the nicest, we would suggest: Try them all!
Boat (Copas) – Calle Juan de Padilla 24
One of the cheapest bars (or maybe the cheapest) in Malaga is Boat. Boat is a popular place among students to go to, because drinks are never as cheap as at this place. Students rarely stay at this place for a long time, because this is a place to get drinks before your night out starts. It is more an on-to-go place, a place where you drink some drinks and then leave for the ‘real’ party. Well-known at Boat are their ‘Copas’ (which means glass). These are 1L big cups, and you can get a few mixed drinks in them for only 3 euros! The gin-tonic and Bacardi cokes are really nice, but if you want to have a fancy cocktail, then you’ll pay 6 euros (which is also not really expensive for what you’ll get). The nice thing about this bar is that it is also located in the city centre of Malaga.
El Pimpi – Calle Granada 62
El Pimpi also belongs to the best student hotspots Malaga, because it is one of the most famous places among students. Almost every student in Malaga knows this bodega bar/restaurant. Yes, El Pimpi is a place where you can have some drinks while enjoying tapas dishes and where you can eat. This place is popular, so we would recommend you to make a reservation beforehand. Inside this bar, you will notice that the decoration is typically like a bodega. There are wine barrels placed at the walls, which makes this place a really cosy place. In spring/summer, you can take place outside. There you can find a cosy ‘Terrassa’, and you’ll have a beautiful view over there.
Casa Aranda – Herrería del Rey 3
This bar is well-known among students, because this bar has got the most delicious Churros of Malaga! You can get Churros in many bars or cafes, but these are really yummy. One portion Churros contains 3 of them. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but men, these are enormous and enormous delicious. You can order these with powder sugar, chocolate or Nutella. Have you ever tried Churros before? If you have, also try these and place a comment with a review below! Have you never tried Churros before? Please, try your first here if you’re in Malaga.
Il Laboratorio Trattoria – Calle Carretería 92
Il Laboratorio Trattoria is a bar and a restaurant in one. At the end of the day and during the night, you can drink here a nice beer or wine, and eat some tapas besides the drinks. Besides drinks and small dishes, you can also eat here. Especially on Sundays, then you can have a really nice brunch here. On a counter, there will be fresh yoghurts, croissants, small sandwiches, cupcakes and more tasty things to eat. They also have homemade fresh orange juice. Another nice thing about this bar is that they will have a big terrace in the summer. Mainly this terrace is filled with students by then. Il Laboratorio Trattoria has got a good value of price.
This is not exactly student hotspots Malaga, but in general, a place which is nice for going out as a student is Plaza de la Merced. It is located in the heart of the city center, and you can find a lot of nice bars and restaurants here.
More interested in Clubs? We recommend you club ‘Weekend’ (Plaza de la Merced 14) and club ‘Malafama’ (Carretería 92). Club Weekend is popular among students, because you can drink nice cocktails here and bring the evening alive! Club Malafama can be more interested for Erasmusstudents, because you will get here 5 euros discount on entrance. The visitors are around 18-25 years old, and they play as well international music as Spanish music.
