Sometimes, students are more productive if they work at another place than usual. The library could be distracting somehow, or you prefer to have some variety. On the internet you can find a lot of hotspots for students to lunch or party, but not to study at. Yes, the library, but that could be non-inspiring and boring sometimes. Therefore, we visited some really nice study hotspots in Valencia. To get inspired by other environments, or to get focused at an (yet) unknown spot.

The best study hotspots in Valencia, for you!

There is lack of information about study hotspots in Valencia on the internet. Most of the articles about hotspots in Valencia contain information about nice places to eat, to shop, to go out or nice bars. A reason for this, is that it is not very common in Spain to study or work at a restaurant/coffee place for a longer time. BUT, there actually are some nice restaurants and coffee places where you can study/work at for a longer time. For you, we reviewed and made a list of the best study hotspots in Valencia!

Bluebell Coffee

If you search for a place that is cozy, has got free access to Wifi and provides sockets:

Bluebell Coffee, Calle Buenos Aires 3

Bluebell Coffee is THE spot for you to study or work at. You can find this little coffee/lunch place in one of the little streets of Valencia’s city center. Bluebell is specialised in coffee.

While you pass the entry, a wonderful smell of fresh hot coffee passes your nose. You can find a table, sit and be served by one of the friendly waitresses, or you can walk to the bar and order yourself. The place looks really cozy and if you walk further, you will end at the little secret garden. Here, you can take place and enjoy your coffee in peace.

Bluebell Coffee. Calle Buenos Aires 3, Valencia

The coffee is made from fresh beans, which you can smell inside. You can have coffee and other drinks during the whole day (from 09.00 – 21.00), and you can have lunch at Bluebell Coffee until 15.30. The dishes are fresh and homemade.

The service is excellent. The employees are really kind and heartwarming. They have no problem with students that sit there for half a day. However they speak English not very well, you are able to understand each other well.

Dulce de Leche

You are creative and love being inspired by your environment while enjoying coffee/tea/food? Dulce de Leche could be the study place for you! You can find this magical place in the city center of Valencia. Dulce de Leche is a pastry and coffeehouse. They provide the most wonderful cakes, snacks and sandwiches besides coffee and tea.

While you pass the entry, an overwhelming smell of homemade cakes will slip into your nose. The showcases full of freshly baked cakes will make your stomach go crazy. The place is perfect for Instagram lovers, because you can take nice pictures of the pretty and cozy place.

Dulce de Leche.

The products Dulce de Leche offer are homemade and fresh. They also offer organic tea and lactose free products. The cakes taste amazing and filling. Sometimes, it is nice to eat something sugary during study breaks.

The service is fine. Most of the waitresses are really politely, kind and nice. They are used to have working students there, and do not mind it.

Gabbeach

This might sound weird, but why not study at the beach? If you prefer to work at a peaceful and relaxing environment, Gabbeach fits you! This place is cozy and offers you free access to their Wifi, and… a pretty view of Valencia beach.

There are two places you could work at here. If you pass the door, you will stand in the restaurant. This is a nice place to work at, because there are big tables with visual reference to the sea. If you walk further, you will stand in a nice ‘lounge place’. Here, you can sit down on a comfortable couch, and work on your laptop easily. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful.

Besides Gabbeach delicious cocktails and alcoholic drinks, they also serve fresh juices and alcohol-free cocktails. For the more easy-going students, they also have coffee, teas and sodas ofcourse. Gabbeach also offers a great scale of lunch possibilities. You are able to work and have a nice lunch here at the same time. Their menu contains of mediterranean and Spanish dishes, which will be freshly made.

The service at Gabbeach is good. Some waitresses speak English almost fluency, and they are open to let you work here for some hours (approximately ±3 hours).

In the centre of the student neighbourhood is located Plaza Honduras Valencia, one of the nicest squares for students and young people on holiday in Valencia. At and around this area there are a lot of bars and restaurants. Every day there are a lot of Spanish and international students gathering at one of the terraces, what makes it one of the best places to go for students and young people in Valencia. There is one more advantage, it is very cheap!

Bars at Plaza Honduras Valencia

There are various bars at Plaza Honduras. We made a list of the best bars for young people to make sure you will enjoy the night.

Big Ben

Big Ben is, as you might expect, a bar with an English atmosphere. There is a pool table, a dartboard and a foosball table. Big Ben has also a very nice terrace where you can enjoy one of the beers or cocktails they serve. The place is always filled with young Spaniards and foreigners from Monday to Sunday (opening hours: 16.00 till 03.30 seven days a week). A perfect place to gather with your friends.

Natura Dub

Right next to the Big Ben you can find Natura Dub. Natura Dub has one important characteristic which makes it very popular, it’s cheap! You only pay €1,- euro for a pint of San Miguel. The bar does not have the same atmosphere as Big Ben but the terrace is always full what makes it one of the nicest places of Plaza Honduras Valencia.

Mescafé

Mescafé does not have the same terrace as Natura Dub or Big Ben but has a very nice and special atmosphere when you enter the bar. With its futuristic appearance and the reggaeton music they play, it is a perfect place to drink something before you go out in one of the clubs in Valencia. The bar is filled with tables where mostly Spaniards enjoy their drinks and dance to the reggaeton vibes. A nice little detail of Mescafé is that you can play Jenga, it can be hilarious.

El Bosfóro

This might be the best known bar of this neighbourhood. El Bósforo does not have the atmosphere most tourist appreciate but, because of the location next to the University of Valencia, the terrace is always filled with students. Beer is also very cheap. El Bósforo is known for its Kebab, people say it’s the best kebab of Valencia.

Restaurants Plaza Honduras Valencia

Besides bars, there are also restaurants at Plaza Honduras Valencia. Just as the bars, the restaurants are also known for the low prices and their focus on students. The best restaurants for students and young people on holiday in Spain are listed below.

El Pato Mareo

The best known restaurant of Plaza Honduras is El Pato Mareo (the dizzy duck). This restaurant is always filled to the brim. There is one simple reason for it; cheap menu with barra libre! Barra libre, open bar in Spanish, means you’ll get unlimited sangria and beer during dinner. The menu exists of multiple plates and is surprisingly good for what you pay. The restaurants attracts big groups, mostly students. The price of the menu with various tapas, hamburger as main course and unlimited beer and sangria is only €12,- per person! If you want to go, make sure you reserve a table up front.

Restaurante Rossino

Not the most obvious choice for a restaurant at Plaza Honduras Valencia is Restaurante Rossino. It is an Italian restaurant with pizzas and pastas. It probably isn’t the best Italian restaurant you’ve ever been to, but it has a nice and special atmosphere. Also, the menu with one drink included costs only €12,- per person. If you want party into the night, starting at Restaurante Rossino is a great option. If you want to go to a fancier restaurant, you should take a look at the restaurants in Ruzafa.

La Rosa Negra

A restaurant at the centre of Plaza Honduras is La Rosa Negra. They offer a big variation of dishes, from pizza to burgers and from tapas to fish. La Rosa Negra also has menus with unlimited drinks for a very good price. Because of the good location of the restaurant, it is the ideal restaurant to combine with a drink in one of the bars afterwards.
