Nerja (you pronounce it like NerGa) is a municipality in the province of Malaga. Compared to other Spanish municipalities, Nerja is quite small. It counts around 22.000 inhabitants. But besides this, Nerja is really great to visit. We are taking you with us to a overnight stay in Nerja Spain.

Nerja Spain is upcoming

Back in the days Nerja Spain wasn’t as populair as it is now. A lot of tourist are coming to Nerja, especially people from England. It makes sense because Nerja is a beautiful place. Let me take you on a night in Nerja and you will see what I mean.

The beaches of Nerja Spain

The morning: step into your flip flops, take your bag and don’t forget your sunscreen. Because we are going to the beach. Nerja is rich of a lot of beautiful beaches, both touristic and private. The ones we recommend to you are: Playa del Carabeo and Playa Burriana. Playa del Carabeo is a beautiful private beach with a lot of the local visitors, that isn’t that crazy because this beach is really quiet with a beautiful view. We recommend you to watch the sunset with some friends at this spot! At Playa Buriana there are a lot of tourist. Both families with young children and students. If you want to meet new people this spot is right for you! After a few hours at the beach you probably want something to eat, right? At Playa Buriana there are a lot of nice restaurants. The one I recommend you is Restaurante Merenedero Moreno. In this restaurant you can can eat the most delicious fish but also the greatest pizzas. This restaurant is not expensive and certainly not for a restaurant with a view at the see. But if we are talking about cheap but yet good food you have to go to Little Italy. This restaurant sells pizzas for 4 euro’s and trust me, they are delicious. You wouldn’t think that but everyday there is a queue waiting for a seat. (tip: I would go for take-away, that’s faster and you can eat it at the beach)

After lunch you can go ahead to the city center. But be calm because it’s a big climb. Once you are in the city, you can walk to the famous Balcon de Europa! The Balcon de Europa is a klif that sticks out over the see. At the balcony you can see the coastline of Spain. After that, you can go to some nice shops and buy a magnet of Nerja for your mother, but after that put some new clothes on because the evening is going to start.

Nerja Spain streets

In the evening, Nerja Spain is really atmospheric. If you are walking on the streets you can hear the castanets of the street musicians and you will see tapas restaurant like, everywhere. Especially in Calle de La Gloria. It doesn’t really matter which place you pick everywhere the tapas are great! At most places you get tapas for free with your drinks, very good deal!

After all the tapas and Sangria (or beer) I can imagine you want to dance a little bit. Well, luckily we now the perfect place to go. At the square of tutti Frutti you can dance your ass of. There are a lot of clubs but the most famous one is the Rockefeller. This club has a two floors

After this long night you propably want to go to bed. Nerja has a lot of cheap hotels and B&B’s. Did you enjoyed Nerja a lot and want to stay for longer? Check Nerja apartments for typical Spanish apartments.

I hope you enjoyed your night! Do you want to see other Spanish places? look at our blog for more information!
